how to fix mcaffee from not loading Framework.
When installing McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.0i, I get the error message "Failed to initialize Common Updater subsystem. make sure the McAfee Framework Service is running. McAfee Common Framework returned error 80040154 @1". What do I do?
You need to uninstall the 'Common Framework'. Run FRMINST /FORCEUNINSTALL from \Program Files\Network Associates\Common Framework. Then remove VirusScan via Add/Remove Programs, reboot and attempt the installation again.

Solution 1:
Uninstall VirusScan Enterprise 7
Reboot the system
Open TaskManager and check for the following processes:
FrameworkService.exe
Mcshield.exe
naPrdMgr.exe
shstat.exe
UpdateUI.exe
VsTskMgr.exe
NOTE: If any of the processes are running, make sure to terminate them.
Open Services and check for the following services:
McAfee Framework Service
Network Associates McShield
Network Associates TaskManager
NOTE: If any of the services are installed, check for any other NAI products that are installed.
Important: If the 'McAfee Framework Service' is still installed, you can remove it by using the following instructions:
Navigate to the installation folder of the Framework component (default location is C:\Program Files\Network Associates\Common Framework)
Copy the file "FRMINST.EXE" to another location.
Then try uninstalling the common updater using the following command: FRMINST.EXE /FORCEUNINSTALL
Important: If the 'Network Associates McShield' or 'Network Associates TaskManager' services are still installed, it means that either you have a failed uninstall of VirusScan Enterprise 7, or a failed uninstall of NetShield 4.5. Try uninstalling VirusScan Enterprise 7 again, or contact support for manual removal instructions of NetShield 4.5.
